Here we are approaching the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine.  As you can see it was a rather gray, muddy day.  The weather was fairly windy and the approach up until this point was rough.  The day before, a boat had broken loose and was smashed against nearby pillars.  This was pretty typical of our trip down the Intracoastal Waterway that fall, at least until we got to Ft. Lauderdale. This picture was taken by our friends, Tom and Adina, on Kokomo, another Catalina 30.  We were also traveling with Jack and Norma Holmes on "Holme Grown" an appropriately named custom built sailboat. Carl is at the helm in yellow and I'm the one in the red foul-weather gear.
